FYI - I've read the entire GPS thread. Here's what I remember...Gu gets caught putting a pic of the mom and claiming it's the cross he made. Maybe there are more to the pics and he did something worse that I forgot about. Never had anything to do with you stuff, UNLESS Gu isn't putting up legit pics of your stuff. Not sure why he wouldn't use all the fire pics though? My guess is stoners on the internet are lumping you in with Gu. Not that Gu doesn't have good seeds, but that's what I saw happen in the thread. I could be wrong. I do know that my purple crashes and 1 wedding night are badass.
Frankly this is the nicest way to say that Gu hasn't changed his stripes and heisen is getting shit on because of it. Heisen has his detractors for their own reasons but there's always something little that I assume is out of his control giving these mouth breathing, neck beard fucks ammo against his shared interest.
I can only empathize with heisen. I feel like he cares more about the end result than his team mate cares about the process of getting people to buy the product being 150% right. Maybe Gu cares 150% and isn't making the absolute best decisions here and there.
The industry I'm in puts me in similar situations. I want to throw shit, demean people and in general do everything wrong when I hear about the shenanigans that happen when I'm not at my place of business. I can't do every single thing all the time and neither can heisen. I'm sure if I could execute every step from beginning to end the result the customer gets would be absolutely incredible.
I bet heisen feels the same way. If you've ever been all-in on a business venture, whether a partner or proprietor you realize that your vision of implementation isn't going to be how the story unfolds relatively quickly.
I'm not trying to be divisive here and am trying my best to support this awkward marriage of circumstance because I like heisen. Trust me, I've been far more understanding with heisen than I would have expected myself to be with other folks.
He's in a situation where you've got three categories of people:
Some shit heads that are losing the game they're playing but they're beyond ignorant to that fact; strutting around like the cock that just fucked every hen in the coop.
People trying to enjoy everyone else but everyone else is unenjoyable.
People that see the two above and are trying to be the ones that are trying to untie the knot between the other groups before the knot in the middle needs cut because its been pulled too tightly to do so.
Heisen is merely an active participant in the process that gets to watch it all unfold, just like us right now.
I would bet heisen would make more interesting, well thought out stuff than just crossing everything to one strain if left to his own devices. Mixing fruit and gas can give you great smoke but it rarely is better breeding stock than just fruit - fruit and gas - gas, in the first generation. I dunno what their long term horizon looks like but more variety of more focused work is what this project started out as. It has (d)evolved into something different. Not saying it's not good shit but it could definitely be better with the genetic pool they're dealing with.
I wish this wasn't the reality of the situation. In an alternate reality I wish that I could have positioned myself to be in Gu's shoes to do right by heisen. I'm legitimately an enthusiast in every sense of the word and I recognize that the ideal isn't the best way to run a business. I'd love to run a 25-35 seat cafe/bistro with 50% higher prices but I'm stuck doing a 175 seat spot at a lower barrier of entry because the economy of scale dictates that is the best way to survive.
I hope he (heisen) doesn't take this the wrong way as I tried to be as diplomatic as possible in describing my perspective on the situation. I doubt I'm the only one feeling this way, I'm sure amos and a few others have similar feelings. The honeymoon is over. Shit isn't easy in a business partnership and I hope they do what's best for the relationship/enterprise long term, not just a series of stay together for the kids concessions on both sides. Meaningful changes to the way things work from start to finish.
Hopefully things are tightened up all around to make chinks in the armor negligible. I'm sure this isn't the most comfortable situation for anyone to be in and I can only wish that it improves. Both of them would benefit greatly in the long run with a few tweaks.
