That Black Afghani. I wonder. I had some "Afghani" many moons ago while in Alb.New Mexico.I was attending school there. Anywho,my buddy/classmate who is from the city, told me the "indigent" have the best weed.

So,we go to town to a soup kitchen and find a "guy".
No disrespect to the homeless, but at first look,I wouldn't have trusted my loot with this guy.Full homeless gear, hikers backpack,4-5 layers of clothes, scruffy beard and dog in tow.

Well,I gave my buddy my half of the bread and they hit a corner to make the deal. Buddy came back with about 10gs of some purpleish-black funk wrapped in foil.
We smoked a pinner joint.....lordy lordy lordy.I was higher than giraffe cooch for what seemed like 3 hours! I wouldve thought it was laced had I not rolled it myself.

So,I wonder if that 80's Black Afghgani is related.
This was back in 89-90.

Holy hell, Im with @gwheels. May attempt some personal chucking but will never call it breeding and will be strictly for play. Realize all my breeding dreams were more, I hope I get lucky dreams. Way more goes into creating stable genetics than I have the intellect, time or space to provide. Not sure if that's a good or bad realization but it is reality.

@Schwaggy P is it possible for big AG and their unlimited resources to create and market seeds that will hit specific markers? Color, height, potency or will it always be a range. Have to assume it's in their plans if its theoretically possible.
Breeding with today's genetics as mixed up as they are is difficult if you actually have a direction you wanna go. Even the popular old school breeders like Nevil and all the old gang would be doing backflips. Those guys were breeding with landraces and mostly stable genetics which makes a huge difference. Today's breeders, or chuckers rather, throwing F1s out by the dozens just adds to it. Start with heirloom/landrace or ibl for less headache.

I bought a ton of old school seeds to hunt through with the intention of going back time a little. Have quite a few landrace and some old originals.
I do plan on chucking some but its totally dependent on finding worthy phenos in those particular packs.
Also intrigued with attempting to reverse something with GA3 just to see if I can pull it off.

If that Black Afghani is the same as I got ahold buckle up boys n girls, the buds are black as the Ace of Spades and will make You sleep right thru a firefight, it is the truth.
one cut in southern oregon, looked like a dark but no purp dark bubba, tasted like the White, but a tad creamier and peel your noggin back. Like as in twice as good as any bubba you've had. And that taste. But those effects, perfect for pain and insomnia. Wasn't around all the time. Boy when it was, it was worth havin.

Go for it man, jump in there and get your feet wet and have fun doing it. No better time to start. And I really dig the old stuff, really wish I had more landrace stock.

GA3 works well, it and aspirin was the first thing I used when I started tinkering around with fems. I do remember the powder didn't mix well and took some time to completely dissolve and also just mix up what you intend to use because the shelf life of the mixed solution doesn't last very long. Think I stored mine in the fridge and used it up in a few days.

Attached is a PDF of my attempt at at Skunky VA report. My 1st ever blantantly copied & customized from other reports I have seen. Just my take on what was important, let me know it I overlooked anything.

I did it in Mac Pages, I am putting it up as a PDF for compatibility, let me know if you prefer a different format,

Because it was part of a side by side with Granny Skunk crosses I am trying hard not to compare the two here. Feedback welcome.

Pics of OSHP X BlackLights 10 days in flower coming tonight. This plant is a Cal Mag whore, First plant for quite some time I got a defieciency in , corrected now and chugging along with a few leaves still showing the effects, all new growth since is A1 , nice early bud development , not too loud smelling 1X stretcher . Really like it.

Skunky VA is dry and curing. Nicely dry. Really strong smoke. And its never shut up smoke. This is not good for a conference call pre chiller.

The yield in the 11 gallon double bubble tote was fantastic. Around 11 oz for the pair. Astounding really. But the bud density, shape and length were perfect.

But the strength. I am glad i waited a bit longer until it was about 20% amber. It is dry mouth, red eyed, jabber jaw STRONG...rarely does a doob lay me out without some concentrate inspiriation.

But Skunky VA is like that. I have to roll smaller doobs. Time to get the regular papers out.

Hopefully you get more seeds in the shop.

People need to try this one out.

So far, so good over here! I really like the structure on both of them, nice and stout, without a lot of stretch. Not sure if it is the genetics or the changes I have made... I waited longer than usual before putting them in the 5 gallon bucket this time.
They are looking very well looked after. The Skunky B's are generally more stout plants and the Ecto Cooler male will help rein in the Gelato's structure.

The mutation is pretty cool, it doesn't seem to be detrimental to flower development. Her leaves look more like the Gelato45. Neither parent expresses this mutation, so I can't say for sure who to blame. :)

Awesome report, thanks so much for taking the time to grow her out and give feedback!

Between @Baja.Beaches and your smoke report, I'm very glad to start getting confirmation roll in on what I experienced during testing this line. I had very similar results and am quite pleased with the Skunky VA. It seems to be the Sweet Skunk variant to the Stink Skunk Skunky D line.

She has some serious commercial potential with the yield and bag appeal but has the strength that can be lacking in the cropper plants. I also noticed the Skunky VA has buds that are a weird combination of fullness, like fluffy bud, and density that weighs out just right to fill up an eighth bag without blowing through your entire harvest.

Thanks for sharing your experience with her.
