I believe that is the answer. You know you wanna. Now it's bordering on need to. It would relieve this vicious cycle of a bean popping dilemma. DooooiiiiiittI found a solo seed rolling around in the Space Invasion bag after I finished taking inventory. Now I’m not sure what to do with it, except getting it wet. Which then provoked my mind to get some other new ones wet. But in doing so, it just prolongs the next project. This mental conflict is a mofo. I’m really anxious to get the project started, but I’m dying to see all these new crosses too. I really need to own a licensed commercial facility. That would solve all my impulsive, impatient issues. Lol
Lol most of those led's aren't close to what is advertised because it's supposed to equivalent to hid. I had to explain all this to my dad when he started growing, he was all excited about these 1000 watt led's, I broke his heart a lil.Sun System T5 4ft/4 bulb

This light is about 15 years old, and the bulbs have been through some use.

This is light is only one year old and was used for two runs. It has newer bulbs than the 15 year old Sun System.

Lol. We have three of these (they were super cheap). We use them for cloning or supplemental lighting.
Sun System / Galaxy Ballast 600 Watt HPS

This hood and ballast is about 15 years old as well, the Sun System T5 and HPS came together. The first lights I bought used almost 10 years ago, and they sat all this time until last year. The bulb is a Hortilux and has only had one run of 12/12. We have a couple more no-name 600 watt HPS with Quantum ballasts but I'll check them another time. Just getting in some practice using this cool device
Yea man i like it. The socket is too tight though. I have to unplug the unit from the wall and do the elbow wings death grip yank to unplug it. And yes I am certainly going to fuck around with this thing a bit lmaoMan ive broken some hearts with that killawatt meter, it does not lie lol but a very handy little device no less your gonna be plugging all kinds of shit into it i was curious george with the dam thing, good way to see all the parasitic draw things use when off as well.
Yea I learned that just a tad bit late. They still work but you need more of them. I can use them in a modular way. It's why I got some more cheap HPS last year to get me through until I figured out what direction I wanted to go with better "real" LEDs.Lol most of those led's aren't close to what is advertised because it's supposed to equivalent to hid. HPS are still a good option imo, tried and true for results.Yea I learned that just a tad bit late. They still work but you need more of them. I can use them in a modular way. I've noticed less trich production on HPS only. We've gotten way more frost even on the cheap LEDs. The HPS do make the buds swell up though. Crappy part, I can only run them in late fall/winter and even then on certain days it gets humid AF in there.HPS are still a good option imo, tried and true for results.
Just curious... was it the same strain you ran under both? Cuz, while you're probably right, I have grown some of my frostiest shit under HPS.I've noticed less trich production on HPS only. Yup the heat sucks, I agree there is more frost to be had with the led's too.I've noticed less trich production on HPS only. We've gotten way more frost even on the cheap LEDs. That's a really good point too, indoor environments differ a bit even in the same areas.Just curious... was it the same strain you ran under both? Cuz, while you're probably right, I have grown some of my frostiest shit under HPS.
It's just crazy how different our environments can be too, cuz I have had crazy humidity since switching to LED but it was a non-issue when I had the hps in my tent, both summer and winter lol...
That's why when people ask questions of what is the best this or that, you can't even really give a good answer unless you know every aspect of their environment, and the climate they live in...
Yea, I have noticed this too... my grows always seem better when flipping to flower from a mature plant rather than flipping before it's really ready... and not just frost but bud development tooI’ve noticed after popping a seed and growing it out, that after taking clones and growing those out, the 2nd, 3rd, and so on, are always better than the first run.
Some would say it’s attributed to knowing the plant at that point, but in my personal opinion, I think it has something more to do with maturity.
For instance, from seed, I might only veg 6-8 weeks before flipping to flower. But clones will be taken at some point and end up vegging another 6-8 weeks. So I think giving the plant ample time to fully mature before flip brings out the best in it.
Clones for me have always seemed frostier then their Moms who were popped from seed and flowered with a shorter veg time.
I hope I explained that okay without confusion. Anyone else have similar results?
Yes we ran at least 2 of each clone we had - 1 in the HPS tent, 1 in the Viparspectra tent. Both in the garage in winter. The HPS had chunkier nugs, the Viparspectra much frostier but not as chunky. This is probably because there were only those 4 Vipars and a few side lighting 6500K LED Tubes, only about 1100 watts at the wall for a 5x10. The LED tent had no bug trouble vs. the HPS tent, which had some fungus gnats (Royal Gold coco, bought over a dozen sacks, never again) and got some spider mites at the end (may have been from a clone we got from a clone nursery, the same as the other ones). The first sign we got we moved those plants out of the tent and outside. It seemed like they liked the heat of the HPS more. We let a Ben & Jerry's pint of ladybugs go and the next day see a bunch of black crispies everywhere. There was no cooling being ran through the lights, just oscillating fans inside and box fans outside.Just curious... was it the same strain you ran under both? Interesting. We haven't cloned and ran quite enough to notice this consistently yet. At first from bought clones then beans. We did notice that the plants from beans grew much thicker trunks and branches and were overall heartier plants than the ones from clones. In fact one of the cloned clones (taken in veg) got all weird and scraggly looking all the way through flower, frosty but no meat at all.I’ve noticed after popping a seed and growing it out, that after taking clones and growing those out, the 2nd, 3rd, and so on, are always better than the first run.

I personally wouldn’t worry about it. I’ve gotten some on my top soil during one of my previous fall grows. I actually though it looked pretty cool. It added some color to the pics. It eventually just went away. There's a bit of green on top of a few rooters likely mold. Should I do anything about it? Or is it inevitable because light is hitting it all the time?
