Dude its simple all plants grow at a different rate, No matter what You are running or size of pot wait to flip till You see roots emerge from all drainage holes. That's when the root ball is formed enough to take on the nutes needed for flower support.I harvested an OBSM this morning. The last 2 harvests showed me a valuable lesson.
It appears you need to veg a plant a min of 1 week per gallon of pot to get it to produce a decent root mass. If it doesnt you are waisting your time with the big pot.
the 5 gallons really need 5 to 6 weeks of veg..
The 2 litre pot go in right away. So it is why they appear to yield so well.
So these topanga are vegging for a long time...Oil Slick too.
The purple punch (3g and 5g) were vegged sufficiently to produce some fat colas...dubstep too. they were vegged much longer this time....this week i am getting a couple more quality fans to get good air flow.
The colas are about to get fatter....time to grow UP !
I just use the rapid rooters and once it shows roots I put it in seedling pot, when I see good root growth from seedling pot draining holes they go in a 1 gal pot, once roots show in all holes of that final pot, Seems to be a good method for Me. I hate rockwool cubes just hate em so I am no expert on using themI put the 5s in too soon and the yield would have been better from a 2 gallon pot. That was the problem.
I used to be impatient before i retired...now i can wait and let them veg....or use smaller pots lol.
And this culling the weak thing....I think heisens last beans were broke because i put them all in bloom and i cant find any weak ones.
@Heathenraider .....let say you had this 8 inch square rockwool cube....why the hell do you have it...i dont know...you have impulse control issues lets say.
And you put a clone in that thing....how long would that have to veg ?
I have to read up on them....I think im doing them incorrectly...i buried half of them in coco in 5 gallon pots.
i really dont know what to do with rockwool.....its like a caveman using a computer for a hammer.
That’s the opposite of my experience if I understand what you’re saying. In general if you take plants in 1 gallon pots and stick them into 5 or 7 or 20, the bigger pots should yield more. Roots grow all the way through flower, I know this isn’t necessarily common knowledge with weed bro science, But unless you’re taking non established plants and sticking them in massive pots Day one of 12/12, you should see Increased yield with bigger pots in every situation, every time where the only difference in plant environment is pot size.I put the 5s in too soon and the yield would have been better from a 2 gallon pot. That was the problem.

That is why I am going from 3 to 4 gallon pots, size in the pots is only a couple inches in Height and width larger . I do however refuse to go away from the square pots , uniformity of shape helps as well as the square ones are easier to lift and move around. That’s the opposite of my experience if I understand what you’re saying. Haha. Just to be an ass.... Circular pots allow roots to grow better/more naturally because they don’t sense and grow in corners as well. I do hate the fact that they don’t fit perfectly together. But i flower big plants so the pots don’t generally touch in flower anyway. I use smart pots with handles. I think they have square ones now too though but they’re soft so if you want the circular ones to be fit in a square space with other plants....they doThat is why I am going from 3 to 4 gallon pots, size in the pots is only a couple inches in Height and width larger . I need to get some 1 gallon pots....i never did an inbetween...i went plug to solo cup to 5 gallon pot or whatever the final is and wait a couple weeks and throw them in bloom. I need to let them root up more in the first container.
i like the 5s because they are short. about half the height of a 5 gallon bubble bucket.
I love the bubba and the all valley grape was just as tasty and potent so the albino boogieM makes me drool. I'm gonna do a proper hunt through those and the all valley as soon as I can.I forgot...well actually i vaped too many volcano bags to try it out while i gardened...but.
Topanga got up potted.
2 x 5 gallon pots (coco/perlite)
2 x 4 gallon pot
2 in cubes....maybe bubblers. i will leave them get bigger and figure it out.
I cant plant seeds for about 4 weeks...some stuff needs to blow through to get room and that means vegging BIGGER !
One purple betty is on day 44.... You are testing stuff...watching it ....smoking some herb....then wham...only 2 to 4 weeks to go...lol
as long as i fire in 2 plants in flower every week we maintain things. And when i finally trim down i can do a pack of seeds every 2 or 3 weeks and cull the weak.
Eso you are right. The LVTK is adding frost and allowing the fruit to be excenuated from dinoberry and grape bubba. And the grape bubba is stupid strong.
Albino Boggiemama is going to be a wrecking ball.
Going right to the big pots makes watering soil difficult. Since the plants need to dry in between watering's you either have to be stingy with the feedings, or they sit in a soaked pot with not enough roots to suck it up. You'll like the control it gives you.I need to get some 1 gallon pots....i never did an inbetween...i went plug to solo cup to 5 gallon pot or whatever the final is and wait a couple weeks and throw them in bloom. U can always cut it up into smaller rw cubes or really small and add it to your media. If that's what u meant if not my badI put the 5s in too soon and the yield would have been better from a 2 gallon pot. That was the problem.
