Just some dude
No not for real. If I was able to identify different types of mold then maybe I could say if it had any beneficial properties. I am sure I smoked plenty of moldy brick weed with no ill effects.
I draw the line at chaga or tree fungus! This reminds me of Kopi Luwak coffee. The coffee beans are eaten and fermented in the gut of a Asian Palm Civet and then collected from there shit lol. Yummy

That's a bummer, man. Nothing is worse than mold setting in at the tail end of a grow. I've already spotted a couple of moldy buds on my outdoor grow, but the buds aren't looking like anything special to me anyways, so I'm probably going to just toss those two plants.
my outie is down to 1 seems to be doing ok after the loss of a large branch, been a week since it rained last, may make the end of the month, hopefully without any mold!

For reals Joebud? Man everytime I see some of these big ass beautiful colas tore up with bud rot it feels like a kick in the nuts.
Bud rot rabbit hole article
Man, you gotta twist the buds and open them up, especially that bud structure. You can feel the moisture in them, and with all the air space,
leaves "pockets" that begin to sweat and rot. If you're careful, you won't bruise them up that bad.
Unlike your nuts, best not put them in "harm's way".
You can thank me later. lol

Trying to finish plants outside is a real struggle here in the PNW.
I grew for a few years in various hoop houses and finally a conditioned hard frame GH.
The GH was a game changer, but come Oct. Nov. the dehuey was working overtime.
Almost every plant I grew outdoor was chopped early because of botyritis or PM.
Here's a pic of a Green Crack cola in one of my hoop houses.
First sign of a problem were these small leaves turning yellow,
twist open the bud and the interior was covered.

Plant was over 10' tall and the main colas were all wrist to forearm size.
Lost a lb or so and still managed to sell a lb to my local dispo!

Anytime I see a discolored leaf in the bud, there's most likely a problem. There is rot happening in the flower by the time the leaf turns.
Never leave that tiny leaf stem when taking leaves off. That is all it takes is that stem rotting to cause rot.
I will get it sometimes when there is a seed being form inside the bud.
Twisting and opening the flowers up can save them..
The sun then will kill the mold. Then rain will wash the dead parts off.
Just my experiences over the years of doing this.
