You are correct i am sure they have a use or they would not be around. My only concern was always the dogs safety. Herd some pretty wild tales about how they can lure a dog into there clutches.

ive actually had a dog get into it with 2 coyotes one fall i shot a shotgun into a tree next to them and they scattered dog was ok just a few bites and scratches. like any wild animal we as humans have encroached on their home territory and need to respect that these wild animals kill to survive not for fun

Where I live, we are over run with coyotes, my neighbor lost 2 calves last spring. Here predators are protected except the coyotes which have a bounty, $35. if you actually turn them in.

As far as whitetails go, we grow them pretty good around here!

id be spending alot of my spare time dragging coyt out of fields if that were the case lol we use to be able to take any number of them as they were very over populated, we could take many in a weekend now there is bag limit and season on them here

No bag limit and no closed season, like hogs, they are classified as nuisance animals.
