Yep i do something similar. The last 7-10 days i straight up add ice in the resivors and cut the light back to do everything u stated.
It seems to really help the hydro plants more than it did the organic soil plants. Just my 2 cents tho..

OK got a few, I think I have every lead cropped on this, still got light burn on a couple of tips. Another 1 in veg and 2 clones.

Both plants on left are Bridezilla, different seeds. The short one in front is the actual top from the BZ I just harvested. It'll be short, but it will be making bud! Mom had some nuts this one has none.
The tall one is in the 2 liter comp, topped to make 4 colas and she's doing that. She's been bounced around, overfed in a small pot in a cold tent. No issues. I have one vegging and 2 in the cloner. I want to grow this one again in a regular pot. Making some wicked colas! ;) back row ECSD to the right, skinny winny child flowered BZilla all the way right. Bottom right is a dubstep that just went in. S

Man they nice dude! I love to see plants veggd that long.. Them octopots man do they create a thick shrubs. Gonna be excited to see these finish.. That tent will be solid colas.. Good job bro 🔥

Don't get me wrong, these Octopots are the shit as far as growth rate goes but I'm the one that creates the shrubbery, so I can't let those bitches steal my shine, lol. Especially since a couple of my girls were reluctant as hell to start branching but I'm in there twice a day at least during veg retying the apical cola down and then splaying all the branches out with my hands because this makes them fill in really nice as the plant forms a ladder of branches

Eventually though from this very aggressive form of LST the apical cola will forget that it's the apical cola for good and then it's a perma shrub like if topped a bunch of times but without ever losing the recovery times like you do from multiple toppings. So if you want the apical cola to keep gaining in height ahead of the rest of the plant for as long as you veg don't be that aggressive.

That is a flood drain feeding the plant :D goes off twice a day. Next time i do this i am going 50 50 coco perlite because i want it to get fed and dry out a bit more. They grow faster that way. :D

I love using them in veg...fill it up and forget about it for 2 weeks. Just check if it needs more water...put in peroxide every 3 days.

I am going to probably scrog her in that 32 special..I found scrog netting..and it split into 3 when i topped her...i love 3.

3 is my favorite prime number. It is a lucky number...She is going to be really something.

Lol. I get u on the training of the plants to get em to look that way. Its alot of work but at the end its all worth it.. Nice job and will be watching them mature. Thx for postn ur info

Love the idea. And are in agreement about the perlite. Not much breathing room for the roots in Coco.
