Boveda packs affect taste or aroma? Life Span?

I didn't realize that was a requirement. Neither did I realize that relevancy was something that required your knowledge.
Actually I was right........

I use a stick of celery to regenerate the Bovedas. Just today, removed eight 62% packs from a quart jar with one stick of celery. The hygrometer in the jar showed 82% after 4 days, the packs are plush. Put the celery back in the jar with another 4 packs. The celery alone will pin the hygrometer @ 99%.
Finally, a use for celery! Never did like that stuff 😉

I use them for sealing up into 1# rolls. I have never noticed any impact on flavor. Sounds like haters hatin'

Prior to Bovedas I used to freeze chunks of plant stalk to use for the same purpose. I like the creativity some have to re-generate the packs but they are inexpensive enough that I keep them disposable.

There are some competitors on the market I am trying now that are cheaper. Don't know if they'll work as well but anything new would have to go cheaper or no one would buy it over a known brand.

One is "Fresh Dank" which seems to be a different system. It's not liquid filled. Feels like cardboard in there, so I think it may actually have an expiration date. Seems to work, not buying it again.

The other is "Integra Boost" which is the same saline solution in a pack. It comes with a color change indicator for when you need a new pack... I think that's a gimmick, but the packs are white and look cleaner. If they work like the Boveda, cheaper is better.

Further thought on it affecting taste/aroma though, is I think maintaining a stable environment is probably best for maintaining flavor/aroma.

BUT - who decided 62% was "the" stable environment that was best? Is it best everywhere? Do you need the same rH when you live in a desert or a swamp? Sea level vs high altitude?

I think the packs are worth it, but maybe higher or lower rH might work better different places.

You can by packs with different levels of humidity.

I would think there is a specific RH that is best for cannabis, like say 62%, LOL, just like there is for cigars, regardless of the ambient RH. That is why they have humidors for cigars.

I get the 62% - but I live in an "average" environment - 4 seasons area. Just thinking that in a different place on earth a different rH might work better. I've never tried a higher or lower one, but they're pretty small increments.

I guess what I mean is that I think the packs work. If I was not happy with it as is I would try either the next rH higher or lower before abandoning it completely.

Cigars is 70% optimal in the humidor. Equal parts propylene glycol and distilled water poured onto a piece of florist foam, will hold humidity at 70% until it drys out. Did it for many years and it works like a mofo. There are also crystals that come in a jar, but I've never tried them.

That piece of celery did the other 4 packs, jar at 82% after 4 days. NO MOLD on the celery......works for me ;)

I was hanging around at SUNY Buffalo back in the fall of '76. Nobody even heard of a "Buffalo Wing" prior to that. Those OG Buffalo wings were the best! Made a bunch of chicken sellers happy that wings, are the high priced chicken cut now, instead of the lowest priced one.

The bachelors diet at college was chicken wings, popcorn, and pizza ingredients.....All dirt cheap...that's all I could afford if I wanted to have any money left forbeer.

Apparently, “they” used to throw away the wings thinking the little bit of meat on them wasn’t worth it.

I’m glad “they” decided to cook them, because they are one of my favorite foods.

"Haters hatin'" lol...Nah,I know what I've experienced. It's possible when I first started using them, before I knew how to use them,I was using them wrong. Can't tell me they don't steal terps/flavor tho.

Anything you put in a jar with buds will steal some terps. Terps & flavor coincide.So....
