I’ve actually never pushed the seeds down to the bottom of the plug. Did you happen to do the same thing with the last batch of rapid rooters? I’m wondering if the bottom of the plug can sometimes end up being too saturated. I’ve always just dropped the seed in, ripped off a tip of the plug, and covered the hole.

No just dropped in and sorta pushed but not as much as these. And I didn't push too hard just a little more than the drop in. Then the little piece to cover. Hope it'll be ok

Curious to see how the volcano theory works out. I’d be lying if I didn’t say I was skeptical. But who knows, that’s how discoveries are made.

And...I have 2 Bounty Hunters that I made a test of this with...it looks like both are female. Should know in a week for sure.

I can see the possibility and potential of seed differences between male and female having some validity. But the theory lost me when it mentioned a formation for spotting hermaphrodites. I’m still curious to see what Spyral comes up with

Seed sexing is simple - If I plant them they are male. If my wife plants them -they are female.

Now....I have a jar of seeds from a nasty hermie on a grow last year. So, I know these seeds will be female.....so I plucked 10 out of the jar and checked the ends. They all have the volcano. Not proof of anything yet, but the plot is thickening.

Not the pointy end but the one with a pronounced opening. It's concave.

Very interesting. All Phylex regs that I popped were volcano. If some don't make it and I need to backfill, then I will make note if the replacement is volcano or not. I will probably pop more in a few weeks and will continue on with that theory until it has been proven out or played out.
What I did notice is that some are on the fence with the volcano. Not a "solid volcano" but just a little off. I separated those into the "maybe" stash.

Have read claims of how tap root emerges being an indicator as well. Cracks out of the tip - Female, from the side - Male. Haven't paid attention ever. Easy enough to check next run.

I noticed those fence sitters as well. I guess even if everybody here plants volcano's and gets girls, that doesn't mean that the others will not make girls.
