Solventless Rosin

First time pressing rosin. Used the 24g and 40g of kief that I collected from the last 2 Sour Leda grows. Ended up getting 6.3g and 15g of rosin respectively. Pretty shitty yield but this was my first time and there could have been a lot of moisture conflating recovery calculations. Regardless, I am happy with the first results. The older of the kief produced a much darker rosin. I pressed this at 185F which is not hot by any means so I hope this is just a result of the kief being "aged" longer. The newer kief produced much lighter rosin and I pressed it at 195F.

IDK, I don't have a dab rig yet. I do have a iKrusher Ares but I was waiting for the battery to charge last night. Gonna try it soon.

If you don't have one already check out Dynavap for a vaporizer and add a dynacoil for concentrates to get a quick, battery free taste. All you need is a single torch style lighter (there are other ways to heat it) and you're in like Flynn.

And you can keep it loaded with flower (without the dynacoil) or a tiny serving of rosin (with the coil).

Ehhh, not really. The plates/controller are from LowTemp (https://www.lowtemp-plates.com/) and the press was from harbor freight. LowTemp has a variety of products from 100% standalone ready to go units to just the plates without a cage. I got their 4x7 cage kit, I didn't pay for anodization but they hooked it up anyway.

I get the same dark rosin from kief even at low temps. I can't ever seem to break 40% for a return on fresh or old kief.

My flower gives up a fine light grade, better taste but usually only 15-20%.

Messed around with pressing some flower. I'm getting the same 15-20% range. In the press below, 120micron bag, 205F plate temp, no fucking clue on pressure, got .67g from 3.5g which is 19%.

How much time u pressing for.. 180sec is the sweet spot for me. Here's around 20% return on flower. Looks good. I like my nectar collector with the glass rig end.

I just repressed those kief bags from my first round of pressings, this time at 215. Squeezed out another 6g and 3g...
