Day two since last watering so I hung out with the plants for about 10 minutes per tent, less for the small spots. Picking up pots, checking for issues. Thinking about pruning and not doing it, stuff like that. The Freakshow gets a new pot soon.

Didn't prune the SOG

Didn't defoliate in here

Or in here but I did pick a nut off the Sangria Cookies. The 4-tops make looking for them easy. No others, and it was down where I had already removed a leaf and sprout at a node. The BHP caught up height-wise but both look like they are shifting from stretch to stack mode.

The 60w tent is working great for slowing down the veg plants. I was worried they might stretch for the light but there's not enough light to get them to grow that much. I can see them building some potential energy and getting ready to explode under the regular lights. Wednesday is five weeks, and I'll need to flip the piffs before week 6 just in case they stretch for the first 6-8 weeks of flower. I can fit 2-3 girls in the flower tents if needed. The fem Crazy Hazy might need to flip as well and I know it'll need a pot. The CCC, Chemdog and can hang out and be big later, I don't think scary stretch will be an issue They'll just need a little more real estate.

Root veggies with no height and that can be planted fairly close together is going to make this little jungle super productive. Probably just little two-foot rows of each but they only need 5-6" between rows so as long as you don't need walking paths you can jam them together. I am using the cross-cut cardboard for mulch in the walking areas and rice hulls to cover areas I already planted. I went through the closet and put the whole smash in the soil to till in right down to adding some pumice. The only thing it'll need is compost with worms because I chopped up any that were close. They'll show back up but why wait? I sifted everything I tilled through a 1/2" grid to get rocks out, and the 5g bucket of soil is heavy and mostly castings. That's just on those two bare areas to the left to get them prepped for the root veggies.

After dropping what we do on seeds, shopping for veggie seeds at $3-$4/pack you can go crazy. I am going to be trying 20 different heirloom carrots and nine onions. I have never grown either in bulk other than some green onions for the tops. I am gonna have a big garden to fill next year or the year after so I need to know what works best in my region and what among those I like the best.

So far there are sugar peas, snap peas, and assorted odd-ball cukes (Mexican sour gherkin and lemon) set to grow on the fences. There's some corn, bush beans, pole beans, zucchini, broccoli, basil, tarragon, seed-mustard (not "greens" mustard), French breakfast radish, watermelon radish, daikon radish, and a honeycomb cherry tomato. Oh, and some ground cherries at the top of one of the slopes to grow down it.

I just placed my third order for seeds and I think I have some of everything that I want that can be planted this late and still produce. Since I am really enjoying this relatively cheaper hobby I ditched all my big-ag seeds. All the stuff from Burpee or seeds I saved from Bonnie plants are now a cover crop in the new big garden. We have rain moving through so it was a good time to toss stuff in a field that doesn't get watered.

I was looking at that ginormous (comparatively) new garden and debating paying someone to loosen the soil with whatever tractor implement might be needed I remembered the old saying about how you eat an elephant - one bite at a time. I think with that little tiller I can attack it in rows. There's going to be some boulders that need removed (or flowers planted around them ) but it's not going to get sifted or anything. Just chucking big rocks as I unearth them. So one row with a broadfork and then the tiller should be a good morning's work. Especially if I can get cover crops to take on the whole area and get their roots working. Too many spots that are just bare with mulch on top.

I think what really got me into this was getting past the "my soil is hard and rocky" to seeing what the stuff looks like busted up and de-rocked. It's all hardwood mulch-pack from centuries and what isn't big chunks of hard clay is castings or rich black soil.

Don't put your dick in the pickle-slicer!

A man comes home early and tells his wife he's been fired from the pickle company. When she bugs him to tell her why he has to confess that for months he has been wanting to put is dick in the pickle-slicer, and today he finally got up the nerve and he got fired for it. 🤷‍♂️

In horror she undoes his belt and yanks down his trousers and underwear  and there's nothing wrong.

She looks up at him and says "if there's nothing wrong with your dick, what happened to the pickle-slicer?

CLOUDRAY S6, Grow Tent Clip Fan 6” with 10 Speeds, EC-Motor, Auto Oscillation - AC Infinity

The pre-order started today, limit one per customer, ships out end of June. I saw one on the amazon for almost $100 so even having to pay for shipping tis is cheaper. Probably some company that got sent a tester and sold it.

Here's the skinny: limit one 🤬 but 15% off for "dudegrows" - which doesn't even come close to making up for the shipping cost and the Kalifornistan luxury tax.

They have a non-oscillating model that's cheaper so I am thinking that each tent will get one of each eventually.

Guess the mystery is up - the big zero means that no, I do not live in CA. But I lived there for 4 years a few decades ago and could not escape quick enough. If you live there your fan is gonna cost an extra $5

- unless they tax shipping too??? That's an oddly placed set of zeroes

I pruned the lower stuff on many plants including the CLHP SOG,
IMG_0596.JPG
I rearranged to put the tall girls in here with the Momma's and I raised the front lights. Pro tip: with independently adjustable lights always keep the taller plants by the door - unless you want forehead damage from the lower front lights while dealing with the tall plants in back. Sucks for pics but it's much safer ;)

and I took a lot of limbs off the RIR flower clone (middle) to keep it manageable. It has 4 main limbs so I kept each limb with 2-4 total tops. Half the plant is in the compost bin and you can't even tell. Those DeChempose up front are looking stellar and starting to get a little chem-funk.

If you or anyone else still have any of the Zee testers you can toss them in the trash. After a year of testing, it's clear that the male I choose to work the Zee lines was a dud. The only good performer was Starfighter Zee and she was only half as potent as her mother was so It was still a huge disappointment. Wouldnt be able to improve these lines without all these badass growers testing my gear, thank you all for your support.

Aside from them throwing some late flower nanners there were some gems in the SFZ. Honestly I would of never considered keepeing a clone from a plant that throws late nanners (I did consider the what ifs…) but I have to admit that one of the purple phenos of the SFZ was absolutely amazing. From color to smell, taste to stone, and not to dense nor too airy, it was the bomb. I don’t consume much flower mainly concentrates but man am I gonna miss it when it’s gone. Fully cured it has a nice cheese and purple funk to it. Tastes like good weed should taste is all I can say. Is it the Zee side of the genetics causing the late nanners? If so then continuing to work the starfighter with other males as you mentioned (I think 🤔) would be totally the way to go. With that being said I’m sad to see them go. Luckily the nanners came in late enough for me to pluck ‘em before the unspeakable happened or they came like the last week of flower and never had a chance to open or produce any seeds.

The Headbanger Zee was the one I grew out that was secretly fully seeded. I kept all the beans from the stuff she hit since there weren't many, but not from her. I kept them because even fully seeded it was good smoke so whatever it hit might not herm... 🤷‍♂️

That said I would love to see that Headbanger in something else or by itself to see if that was what brought the dank. If it wasn't and it was the Zerelda, then I feel your pain and I'm sorry for your loss ;)

The purple pheno is by far my favorite morning smoke at the moment.
My happy weed definitely has a ceiling though, I can smoke it all day :D
Wish I had more.....oh well!

I rolled the dice on a male and paired him with 6 different females, some I had hunted and some clone only, and every cross had issues with stress. I think it is safe to say that male was the issue and just cut my losses and move forward. Im still holding most of the females used and they all seem to be performing well in other projects.

Starfighter is one hell of a strain and Im holding enough beans to do a proper hunt for a few females I can send to bob to reverse. That might be the next wave of freebies we offer once all the Oilspill F4 is gone

The headbanger has a really heavy sour expression that doesn't come out well in pairings so I might try reversing it myself

More pics later of the 'real' plants. With the exception of the front three these are all clones. The last three fems I dropped can veg until they look too big, then they get a 5g and flipped. There's space because the Albany Piff got flipped. I topped the skunks again because they were getting too tall. After I smoke it I'll see if I want to do a SOG out of either of keep newer clones or something. The Cream is the one I left tall and I would up-pot it and flip it as is if I had the room. I have 4 beans left (regs) so I'm not really worried about it. I like the smoke though so I want to do another run with it in some fashion. Plenty of true leaves now.
IMG_0601.JPG
I'm doing a minor up-pot for the Piff from a 1/2L to a 1L just to give them plenty of fresh soil until they show sex.

How I roll is I went in at lights on and checked to make sure nothing is dying and all the timers are still working. I got the room set up to do everything but now I'll chill and watch a podcast and get really high and make sure I don't forget anything - -like mycorrhizae damnit - brb :ROFLMAO: . Then I go water and stuff.

They had stock come in the other day, limit 2 per person, and they sold out in a matter of minutes. The electronics shortage is insane right now and most people don’t realize how bad it is. The jobs I work on currently have a 26 week delay in receiving distributed audio electronics, processors, high end thermostats, etc. I have been waiting since last July for a specific thermostat.

It was. I ordered one in January when they were in stock, received an email after a few days saying that they ran out before they could fulfill my order, and asked if I wanted my money back or just wait until they got some back in stock in April (which turned into May). I took the refund because I knew it would be longer than April based on what I’ve been seeing for delays in my industry.
