The key to it all is what is used for a denaturing agent. It could be anything from gasoline, methanol, or something as harmless as cinnamon oil to discourage consumption. Or a concoction of a lot of shit. But in this case hexane in ISO is the matter at hand. But I agree 100% that ethanol is the way to go but for him to call out hexane is a bit of misinformation in my opinion. Hell they use Naphtha to extract DMT from Acacia Bark. That’s a form of denatured alcohol I believe.
Was there any residual odor or taste from the hexane. They say at 30ppm the smell and what not is still strong. I would guess you would have to get the ppm way down not to smell it.
Naphtha is a non-polar solvent similar to lighter fluid. I've used it to extract dmt from mimosa hostilis root bark

5000 ppm for butane and 290 ppm for hexane is acceptable in most legal states. Plus a long list of other shit including metals that can be present to a certain degree. Truth is nobody knows the long term effect of any residual solvents. Best to rosin press or use another form of solventless extraction. And use lab grade ethanol if you wanna refine it or render it for your purpose.
