73 and 120 look bestAfter a couple of years I think this thread needs a kick in the ass....
A lot of what is shown above is super nice lookin' stuff. Clear///tan...almost white'ish. We'z all looked on and had the proverbial cookie dangled in our face on this thread...but as often happens in WeedLand where PROFIT comes into play....some folks won;t drop the info on you on HOW TO....they just do the LOOK AT ME shit....uuuuuuhhhhummm. Just like my freeze dryer....it's taken me 2 years to flush it out and find the HIDDEN touch screen features/ways to skip processes/path to success.
Had a long convo with a friend from Cali last week about this same topic. He dropped some info on me that makes sense...and opens things up to making product like shown above...if interested.
What he said was that to get these really light colors and tantalizing offerings....guys are taking their weed like 2 weeks EARLY....when all trichs are clear. They then quick freeze....make the bubble.....then press it at 180 for 2-3 minutes. I may try this this summer on a plant or two....but time will tell. I'm not tryin to impress Kenwall here...LOL...
For now I'm still in status quo mode......digggin' in the freezer when needed for more goodness from last Summer's outdoor run.
Made/dried this in the freeze dryer a few days ago. Pretty yummy stuff. 73 top left....25 bottom left..... 160 top right....120 bottom right. The dryer does things so quickly that nothing oxidizes and even the 25 bag comes out lookin' OK. Dried in the air over a month+ it's shades darker...either green...or black'ish.

Frenchy let his go until they had lots of amber and still got some nice light colored hash. I think the freeze drying helps keep it from going too dark, but I also don’t think dark colored hash is necessarily a bad thing. My last batch was really dark but it still came out amazing. After a couple of years I think this thread needs a kick in the ass....

What did you do wrong?I didn't even know/remember this thread existed! Made my mouth water just looking at the photos it's been a couple since I tried making any with bubble bags I have been collecting the yum yums from my trimming tray and pressing it I only recently learned one needs to do more than just press the trichromes from my trim bin and call it good I been doing it wrong for years oddly no one complained though lol
I didn't realize you have to work the trichomes until smooth and the texture changes I see a warm glass bottle rolled over it works well all I been doing is scrapping the trichomes up off my bins putting them in my press and smoke it... Ignorance is bliss Just finished trimming so I a, going to try the warm glass bottle trick and see if it mellows the smokeWhat did you do wrong?
If you want it really smooth then, after all that, wrap it tightly in cellophane and put it away in a cool dark place for at least a few months. It seems to just get better and better the longer you let it cure. I let one cure for over a year and a half before I tried it and it was amazing.I didn't realize you have to work the trichomes until smooth and the texture changes I see a warm glass bottle rolled over it works well all I been doing is scrapping the trichomes up off my bins putting them in my press and smoke it... Hmmm never heard that. Let me know how that works. I dry sift n just press too. I usually jar it up and add heat after. Have ended up with sugar, budder and crumble that way. I suspect history will repeat and unless I get ripped and misplace a couple grams it will be gone by weeks end I definitely will try aging some though TreeFarmer it makes senseIf you want it really smooth then, after all that, wrap it tightly in cellophane and put it away in a cool dark place for at least a few months. I guess I am not the only one Used to get black hash in the 70-80s it was like tar but the blond hash looked like the stuff I been pressing out so I just thought that's all there was to it but I like the sounds and images I have seen of the hash that has the extra step I'll let you know my friend.....Hmmm never heard that.
