LUX meter to PAR meter hack

Just watched this video from Shane and this is pretty bad ass for people that don't want to drop 500$ on apogee par meter.

No need for a hack if you're using white lights.
just multiply (Lux x .015) to get a good par number.
50000 lux = 750 par
66666 lux = 999.99 par

I grab my 20 dollar cheap o meter and bring it to the grow shops to compare mine with their 400 dollar whammys. Then I see how mine compares. Then I know where my cheap o meter stands

I bought a cheap meter that you stick in the ground that measures Ph, moisture and light level. I just take it outside in direct sunlight and see where the needle is. Use that for my reference under the lights. Just stay under where the needle went. Maybe not optimum but I am not trying to squeeze the most out of my plants (oh the horror).

There's a pretty large variance in the charts migro showed, from meter to meter, and dr meter wasn't on there. Ehhh. 10 bux- peace of mind....
