Here are what mine look like this morning which is day 14. The first set of multi fingered leaves are out. I tried something new with these and I think it may have slowed them down. Instead of letting the soil dry out I decided to water a tiny bit daily, to keep the pots at a constant weight, hoping to keep the microbial life going. Now that the first set of multi fingered leaves are out I'm hoping they start to take off. They aren't really showing any bad signs so I don't think I over watered excessively.

Yours look like mine did 1 week ago. If I didn't have the pics I would not believe they grew so much in one week. I feel like the explosive growth is about to start.

I feel the epsom foliar has benefited my plants. I did a 200 ppm foliar yesterday on the two with the weakest color and will do one or two more plants today. Until this grow I have never used the cotyledons to read a plant. I feel there are only 2 possible deficiencies that will show up on a small plant in veg if a soil is in good shape, nitrogen or magnesium. If it was a nitrogen issue I feel the cotyledons would have yellowed and all of mine are still green.
I'm not suggesting anyone do what I did, everyone's situation is different, just sharing what I think I'm seeing with my plants.

Wow, I didn't realize yours grew that much in that one week! I hope mine do the same!

The thing about plant size now, is that it really doesn't matter. The goal is one perfect top. I have had huge tops that look like a hot mess, and medium sized ones that were picture perfect. If you flip too early and they aren't ready, they'll just take longer to pre-flower. If they are waiting longer to flower under 12/12 that is stretch time.

Good point. I've been looking for pre flowers and haven't seen any.
BTW, it's nice to be competing against you again.
My goals are different.
I'm going for the heathiest plant, the largest fan leaf and the largest cola.
You guys can battle it out for the prettiest flower.

I enjoy the game in progress not the end game results.
Bet your 1st true set of leaves die before mine. If you don't pluck them. ;)

Sorry, since I started organic I have been harvesting with every fan leaf I haven't pruned. All green or faded. I usually prune those lower ones early for airflow, but if you want me to leave them no problem.

Here's my two flower tents from last night, the purple plant got harvested.

A healthy plant with more leaf sets generally will mature faster than one that is growing slow with only 2. This as well as reaching maturity in general after being behind from late seeds etc. I think that's what most people are talking about. Maturity not size is the worry but they are also related when discussing seedling growth. In other words whatever your wife tells you. Size matters

Maybe @Heisenbeans can clarify, but I don't think finishing on time is going to be an issue if this contest is based on the best looking cola. Those of us who are a week behind will still have plenty mature buds by the end of the contest as long as we flip them as soon as they are sexually mature.

I'm pretty sure H said as soon as the nodes start to offset the girls are ready to flip... Does anybody have offset nodes yet for you guys?

I have 1 node lmfao ! Offset nodes is a first sign for sure a plant is maturing but sometimes they can take a bit to kick in. If you see pistils you are more than golden. Some will show in 3 but most are 4 to 5 weeks for that without manipulation imo.
