Spider mites

Well fuck...

I've been growing for 2 years and I believe I have got my first case of spider mites. I noticed some webbing on my clones last night before bed and some white specks on a couple plants I just put in the veg tent. I sprayed the clones with azamax but then just said fuck it and threw them out. It hasn't appeared to affect my flowering plants yet.

I ordered some other shit to go with the azamax so I can rotate between treatments. Anyone have experience with mites? Should I just spray my clone tent and my veg tent down including all the plants in them? Should I worry about my flower tent yet? I don't want to ruin my buds by spraying them. I have washed buds in h2o2 before with good results so maybe I could do that after harvest?

Any suggestions and advice are welcome...

Spray down the clone n veg tents. It’s good to rotate treatments as they build tolerance. Dont garden in the flower tent after doing work in the others. Either hit the flower tent first or just visit on separate days.

I think you have the right idea and as long as you stay on top of them you won’t have to spray your flower.

Just make sure plants are clean before moving them to other tents and you can keep them contained.

Thanks for the advice. Much appreciated. Luckily, I think my daily routine of checking my flower tent first has definitely helped me keep them contained. I'll let y'all know how it goes. Praying I can kick these little fuckers ass before they turn into a full blown infestation

I use a combo attack. I spray them down hard with cold water from the hose knock em right off the plant. Repeat every day for four days to get the eggs that keep hatching. After water I also fog and clean the room the best I can with the time i got Seems like they always find their way back. I think I’m just going to make it part of my process to treat before I go to flower or some type of weekly / monthly routine to keep them in check

I only had spider mites once, years ago, and I hit them with everything under the sun. They came back every time. I tried Avid(I think) out of desperation, and never seen them again. Everything with buds(even little buds) was thrown out first, then all vegging plants were dipped. Treat whole room not just the tents. Good luck.

i used spinosad at first for 2 weeks straight. didnt do a damn thing. wouldnt see them for 2 or 3 days then Bam theres more than the last time.

these cans were the only thing i could get to work. i dont think id use them on flowering plants tho so maybe leave that tent zipped shut.

id just leave the other 2 tents open and let the can go off in the room the tents are in. Should fix the problem in no time. do it at least 2 times. 3 cans come in 1 pack. let 1 can go off then in 4 to 5 days let another 1 off. something to do with how they reproduce. i read where theyve even become resistant to certain mitacides which then causes the grower to try all types of different products spending alot of money and in the end still losing the battle.

Azamax is like playing with headache and wanting to win a war and making it to be a gold item

it’s a stresser to the plant, just asking for a long time problem and whole cycle battle, and you can only Spray till 3/4th week of bloom so I’m good on that. It’s expensive and the pest get resistant toward it. what I would suggest is multi attack IPM . if you not in bloom use , you can mix this product with ethier Grandevo or venerate and make a super killing brew and it’s fairly safe and super effectIve on almost all bugs aka ever green 5.0 , it’s the same company’s version and non “organic version of pyganic 5.o but 3x cheaper and same company makes it! (only issue is limited times per cycle on evergreen and shouldn’t use past 3/4th week of flower , but great rotational and mixture with these products , it can kill 150 + bugs and it’s super save ) + grandevo wdg than rotate with venerate xc every 7 days . If the pest rises of population beyond small scale or prevention scale , use a Additional “knock out “ like lost coast plant therapy or green cleaner + both products mentioned are flower stage safe ( apply every 3 days at highest rate ) and then after after 3 applications go back to venerate xc than rotate to grandevo

Point of the grandevo and venerate combo rotate is nothing can become Resistant , super safe and also can be used up to harvest ( I have many rounds ns lab tested and all states including Canada approve unlike so many brand

Tip for the Marrone line ( Regalia, grandevo, venerate ) I would give for money would just buy the non cannabis label and save ya 30%+ off and it’s the same thing . The =non cannabis is for tobacco and all veggies . So if it’s for a smoking plant I’m fine not buying the fancier label and the rep can’t explain “why” and they are exact same % in ingredients . that’s all on you to choose the “cg line” = cannabis. Line or non ”cg” which is veggies and main ag ( which cost way less)

Outdoors, blast them hard with soapy water everyday for a week (just need a mixing bottle that attaches to hose). Indoors, I use pyrethrum. I'll also use that outdoors as well, but only had to do that once a few years back from a heavy infestation. No matter what pests I have, I like to sprinkle DE as a top coat. Whether that helps or not, I don't know. But, I always get freaked out by pests. Shit can escalate fast.

Thanks, I'll look into these. Unfortunately azamax was all I had on hand so I figured it was better to hit then with something rather than wait a couple days for something else. But I have other stuff on the way and I'm gonna check these out. It's a full on assault on these little bastards now. I'll hit them with everything under the sun if I have to lol

The “good” thing towards Azamax it does make them slow down on reproduction and repels them. But the cons vs good and even price and even the multiple uses are just asking for a losing battle and just lossy plants and the buds to laugh at you and conquer . It’s all about the ipm no matter route you go . I try to always have a ipm and prevention cause once you got it’s , it’s waaay here to get get rid of

thats exactly what you gotta do

azamax is super expensive with mixed results.

those pest strips work really well for fungus gnats. id rather use these over de any day. im not sure if theyd work to good on spider mites. never hurts to try.

i know those fogger cans deff work. i had 1 hell of a problem. their the 1 pest i still look for weekly just to make sure i dont see even 1 anywhere near my girls.

i heard this to! I havnt checked the price of it yet. Suppose to be good for most pests we encounter.

Yes they will eliminate spider mites. I got a couple clones from a buddy a few years ago and come to find out they brought some hitchhikers with em. I noticed really soon that I had a few plants that were looking sickly, after looking really close I saw the problem- mites.
So I learned two things- the pest strips will kill spider mites and 2- always check any plant you get from someone else (before you put it with your own).
I’ve also heard of other growers taking their plants outdoors to get some natural sun and fresh air, only to find out later that they brought bugs back inside. So that’s another thing to remember.

Hey all, I have two grows going next to each other. One is in my my garden bed, one in a greenhouse. Garden bed is no till, I'm using KNF techniques. The greenhouse is my mix that I use indoors, but only outdoors.

The garden has been awesome. No nutrients at all! Just the occasional watering. There are squash and cukes out there that have gotten PM, but not my plants. No pests whatsoever. Not an inkling of anything other than borers.

In the greenhouse, away from the garden, I'm dealing with the borers, but also PM. I have long running sativas with hardly any foliage, yet they are getting the PM from outside the greenhouse.

My point here is, if you're growing outdoors, use wise organic techniques. @J.James . I haven't fertilized or treated anything in my garden. I have hardly any yellow leaves. This crop has been amazing! No ferts, no ipm, no nothing... just water. A d my water ph is near 10!
