For the first time i tried rockwool. I used 1 inch rockwool plugs that have a split on them, they fit in the cubes.

I soaked Topanga seeds in paper towel and once they cracked i put them in the treated rockwool.

Soaked in PH 5.5 RO water....then watered with 350 TDS AN trio at even strength. They worked perfectly.

3 of them really stretched out long plants...so i put them in coco pots and got them right low in the pot so they will be ok.

It is weird to not water stuff very often. Rockwool stays damp for a few days. Pretty care free stuff.

Here's my "rig" - the cardboard keeps the heat in, the wood holds the mat flat and keeps stoners from tipping over little cups of seeds and water.

I'm using the Oasis Horticubes instead of soil now - but plan on soil as soon as I see roots.

I had a seed that wouldnt germ in the paper towel. Thru it in a glass of water for 24hr and bam she popped.

I usually wrap a small piece of plastic wrap around the paper towel to keep the moisture in But it looks like ill be using the cup of water instead of a paper towel from now on.

a.) Manuel scarification w/ piece of sandstone. b.) Chemical scarification, soak in H2O treated w/H2O2 @ 80f for 8 hrs. c.) change to RO H2o for up to 36 hrs, but start fishing them as radical presents. d.) into dried, then reconstituted Rapid rooters @ 80f till pops

Have the best results of them not stretching and falling over when I put in cup of water till they crack, then in to a 5.5ph water soaked block and cover the hole with a little rockwool scraped over. In a tray and dome and and they usually sprouted up in 2-3 days with 100%

I fill an ice cube tray with water and put a seed in each one and leave them in a dark warm place until I get half inch tap root then I place the seed into a rapid rooter.

On a related note, what do you guy consider day 1, the day you put the seed in water, or the day the cotyledons first appear?

Seed wet, day flipped.
Leaves and pistils are random plant to plant, even in the same pack of seeds. Like with flipping, unless you are severe OCD or have a special purpose for knowing exactly the days. Keeping track of when you got a bunch wet, or flipped a tent, instead of when certain plant specific things happen is a lot easier.

Just me.
