How many times can i top?

i'm currently trying to put my first plants into flower, so i thought i'd pop 2 new seeds but this time i wanna really get the most out of my plants. I there a certain amount of times to top? are there pro's and cons etc.

The buds get smaller each time you top it. But they are not 50% of the original

1 bud is 100%
2 buds of about 3/4 the size for 150% total
And they go on and on like that. 100 is the magical number in a tent. Dont go past 100 tops unless you are a fan of trim hell.

Outdoors you are limited by how high you can reach and how much space it has.

If you are just starting and worried about building a stash, longer veg is not the way to go in my opinion. If you have plenty of seeds, or are into cloning, shorter veg and more harvests per year.

But there is also vegging too short if you want one respectable size plant and not bunch of smaller plants.

For me, the happy medium is to top for 4 or 8 final tops. You can get the plants to that point in about a 5-6 weeks, which is when they are about mature enough to flip.

Pot size will also determine your final yield.
