Insect egg identification

It is early september.
I just found these weird eggs.
The mass looks and feels leathery but upon closer inspection is made up of tiny spheres.
Eggs are on the top side of the leaf.

I have seen this in the past. It is either butterfly eggs or moth eggs they lay eggs on tops and bottom of leaves like that bunches together a butterfly lays about a thousand eggs and only a few make it to hatching. They lay the eggs on leaves so the larvae has food as soon as they hatch

Good thing i found them before they hatched!
I have them in a jar. Im breeding mantis so im gonna keep them in a jar to give as food when they hatch... Aslong as they arent the furry ones.

That was freaky fast!
A ton of itty bitty Inch Worms inchin along the inside of the jar.

It looked like 1/3 of the eggs had hatched when i took the pic.
