I had this top that was way too high and I tried to bend it a little but I ended up breaking the outer layer.
This happened about a week ago and the actual top looks fine but the stem looks messed up. Am I better off just leaving it alone or removing it?
It should cause a little knuckle. Done it more times then I want to say I’ve almost completely broke off. I have taped it as soon as it happens and usually works good! Just one hell of a high stress
Also I believe it’s called grafting? But come from places with extremely low plant counts people will literally chop branches off and attach to one plant so they can get that many more strains from one plant
It'll be fine now that the scar is healed over and nothing died.
Not that it'll help now, but If I have to supercrop like that I wrap bandage tape around the place I'll bend it before starting. Just enough to keep air and junk out if it does break open.
Sometimes i'll put tape around a wound like that - usually masking tape since it comes off easy - it really works well if it was bent and then became floppy - so it works kinda like a splint
Bandaid or tape always worked for us. On real bad ones, my buddy likes to slice a straw lengthwise, wrap it around the area and tape or string to hold in place.
