Algae on clone roots

I put some clones into clear plastic cups to grow a bit before moving to 1 gal pots. I left them a bit long and when I started to transplant them today I noticed what looked like algae on the roots and soil (especially the perlite) in the bottom of the cup. I transplanted them anyways, but was wondering if they would be okay.

Yea they a be ok. Light and moisture grows algea so keep the infected roots and soil buried in new soil and the algea will die off. Theres products you can buy to kill the algae but i have never used any of them. A good rule of thumb is to never use see thru containers growing hydro or soil

Thinking now, that makes sense. I figured clear cups would let you see roots easier, but looks like that was a poor choice.

I figured they'd be okay, but thought I'd ask anyways.

Thanks!
