Maybe it helps keep the seeds from rattling around instead of cotton?
Only the bigger ones because you can see one that got wedged by the stick. I don’t understand why most of these guys don’t just use centrifuge vials. You can get 1,000 for under $20, they’re probably even cheaper if you buy them in higher quantities, and they work great for mailing seeds. I’ll never understand why breeders feel the need to try to come up with special packaging that just winds up in the trash once the seeds are popped.

I keep almost all my breeder packs as souvenirs. An example about how anal I am about the souvenirs. Seedsherenow.com didn't include the collectors cards for my t.h.seeds 30th anniversary box set. I contacted Seedsherenow.com and they said that I got everything that was supposed to. That didn't work so I went directly to Julien (t.h.seeds main breeder) and he said yep they should have included them but they would send them to me.

I get it for collector stuff. I think Leo does a nice job with his Aficionado packages for those who spend the money on it. I just think it’s goofy for the majority of seeds sold.

That perfume sampler seed vial is pretty hilarious. All that work to make it look pretty with the wax/packaging and they didn’t bother to at least cut the dipstick off of it?
They make the exact same vials without the dipstick that are probably cheaper. No way that could be considered 'better'.

I agree about the wax too. You are a copycat company trying to make sure people don't scam "your" genetics 😂

As far as the Leo Stone stuff - I think he has good stuff. I have grown crosses with his stuff (3 in flower now) but I think most of his stories are bullshit. Francis "Notsodog" called him out on his "pre-pre" skunk find.

I don't need the stories, but the stories are what let you charge $500 for a dozen hemp seeds. I like the price model 707 has going, with 2 tiers of beans. You can get the "elite clone" chucks for $50 a pack that are still grown out and tested by 707, or you can invest $200 on his worked lines of classics he has in the stable. Lemon Tree, Catpiss, etc.

Freeborn also pulled himself off the top tier of prices to get his beans out there. He said he decided he could keep a few lines in reserve for keeping their added value, like to use for charity auctions an such. Now his beans are going for $120-150 per pack like all the rest, when the last Freeborn stock at SHN was going for Aficianado prices. I don't know if he re-stocked there at all.

I play this flick for haters regularly.

No biggie.

Some people care about genetics so much that everything surrounding the seeds matters to them. Which is cool. I may be on the trail head of that hike. Lot of shit to sort out.

Other people are just stoked about the journey their choice in seed packs will bring. Which is also cool in it's own way.

Also why the fuck is my seed purchase being so heavily criticized? Guess I won't be sharing anymore...
Ya thought the same thing B4 u posted this..

Yes, I see what they're saying, it's a odd shipping container, but to me what matters is the seeds are the ones u paid for, and they aren't damaged/ squished.. imo who cares what they come in..?
Keep sharing what u got going man...✌

What I said was more about the industry as a whole and not from a collectors standpoint. I didn’t mean it as a knock on you or anyone else for what they like to buy.
I believe the seed world is in total "chaos" at the moment.
Seed sellers are doing whatever it takes to sell seeds,
which they're O So "plentiful",
combined with O So "questionable" origins.
You should go with your "gut feeling", forget what everyone else thinks is right.
That container might have been all the poor guy had on hand at such short notice.
Might have been his only sale for a good while.
You never know, you're dealing strangers on the internet 99% of the time.

I wasn't hating on the purchase. I think SHN has an exorbitant markup on everything, and they treat freebies like they paid for them. As far as the seed company, they are doing what I wish more would do, I love S1's and hunting through good genetics. If they started with the legit genetics then they are what will help break the broken system. As far as the PBB, is that a cut or a line of seeds that he sold? I know he sold the seeds but I think there was a pheno selected as "the cut", that you may or may not have in that expensive pack of seeds they sell.

"Notsodog" is the internet handle of a weed-nerd that geeks out on strain history stuff and participates in a podcast with Matt Riot of Riot seeds - none of us are using our real names for some reason... One thing I have learned about any type of verbal history, weed stories, etc. is that while it is sometimes hard to prove a certain claim it is usually easy to disprove something.

So a lot of the podcasts are either selling something or calling out bullshit. He's a little younger than I am but from the same general 'pre-internet' weed generation, and he grew and sold weed, was part of that deadhead/weed culture, and he has a library of genetics that he has maintained forever. He is the one that originated the Mendo Purps, and is friends with the CSI Humbolt dude and lets him breed and sell some of his cuts. Their podcast when he is a cohost are pretty middle of the road weed history and a good listen.

He has a unique (supposedly) LA Pure Kush cut that was sold as "Headband" and got the internet title of Notsodog's Headband. I am growing out a few now and it looks like good weed.

Short version is that I have grown lots of seeds. I think the best results seem to come from breeders that were in the game way before it was legal. However good your cuts are people that have stayed in the game for a while are usually worth the price of admission. If they weren't they'd be nobody now. Adam Dunn is a douchenozzle but THSeeds has great genetics. If he was trying to make it on his personality he's like a not-very-interesting Howard Stern. He'd be history. But he's been around the industry since before it was an industry, and you make connections and learn stuff etc.

The only reason I went with shn is because they were the only company carrying thseeds 30th anniversary box set in America. The peanut butter breath was just so i couId use my points after my 300 dollar seed purchase. I could have went with attitude if I wanted everything cut up and the seeds stuffed into baggies and whatever they decide to hide your seeds in. That and having to deal with customs isn't something I'm fond of anymore after having several orders snagged or "lost" in Chicago.

As far as Adam goes I don't get your opinion of him I've watched a bunch of his videos and listened to his podcast a couple of times and he seems like a genuine open minded kind of guy. And whenever I've talked to him directly he was always to the point and considerate of what I had to say.

I think he was/is an "actor" of some kind.
I thought he had mentioned it in an old podcast one time.
Not sure what he played in.
The CIA/KGB markings on their old seed packs kinda made you wonder. lol
