I remember long ago...back when the original mods were in place...how they strongly discouraged political posts and discussions, saying things like...

If there were a fixed amount of dollars in circulation you could say "I got my money back". But you didn't, in terms of actual purchasing power, you got your existing dollars devalued.
The Federal Reserve "loaned" trillions of dollars to the USA, and "created" that additional money. That creation of new money, by increasing the total supply of dollars, lessened the value of each individual dollar, both those dollars previously existing and the newly created dollars. Inflation, the hidden tax.
It's why old guys like us, have stories about nickel bags and nickel candy bars. A dollar buys far less than it used to. Eventually the value of each dollar will be very close to zero, and we're getting closer every time they expand the currency.

You are completely missing the point - I paid taxes - I got money back that wasn't part of the original deal. If I don't have to pay it back, I got my money back. Yes, politicians spend other peoples money in excess. It needs to stop. But in this instance, My personal balance sheet is in the green.
Something to think about - in less than three years, our economy blew up because of deregulation, lowering taxes, and making it more expensive for Ford to make a car in Mexico than in the USA (tariffs, taxes and whatnot). If the left can keep everything shut down, they'll try to blame Trump for the economy. While insisting that Gropin' Joe is the one to fix it...
If everything was opened tomorrow, the economy would be back before the elections. 2-3 months tops. THAT is why the dems need chaos.

I like your sentiment, certainly I've never wanted, needed or asked for a "leader".
I'd go so far as saying that the term "leader" is just a euphemism for "master". If you can't realistically decline being automatically the subject of which ever leader is appointed over you, you aren't being lead, you are being forcibly captured, since there is a real threat of use of force for declining.
Term limits will only change which "leader" holds the leash.
It won't eliminate the leash, just because somebody new is leading us dogs around.
I think individual's who do not individually consent to a "representative" cannot actually have a "representative", the correct term there would be
"overseer".
I tend to like to use words which actually describe what happens, rather than euphemisms, which is why I reject political terms like "leader", "authorities" and collateral damage, to name just a few.

Term limits will keep corrupt career politicians out of the mix. People have been in Congress for 40 years plus - no reason for that.
"Politician" should not be a job description - it should be a term of service like in the military.
If I am big pharma, and the people change every few years, it limits my ability for long-term control of the votes of someone supposed to be representing their constituents.
